Allan grew up with a ranching background but he got involved in music as soon as possible!

Allan's background.
Allan Chapman was born and raised on a working cow/calf ranching operation - the Blue Goose Ranch in Knox County, Texas. His great grandfather founded the ranch in 1882.
He graduated from Texas Christian University with a BA in English Literature, a BA in Philosophy and a MA in English Literature. After teaching for a while at Oklahoma State University, Allan made tracks to Tulsa, Oklahoma and Memphis, Tennessee to begin work in the song writing community.
In 1973 Allan moved to Nashville, Tennessee working as a staff songwriter for Tree Publishing and United Artists Music Publishing. He wrote and co-wrote award winning songs for The Oak Ridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, George Jones, Diana Ross and many others. He also scored incidental music for numerous United Artists Films. He produced records for many Nashville songwriters.
